The answer should be relatively obvious. However, part of our mission at Reel Sportswear™ is conservation our marine resources and promoting the conscious mindset of “LEAVE NO TRACE”. The "Leave No Trace" ideology helps reinforce the Clean Tides™ mission and reminds us to respect the rights of other users of the outdoors as well as future generations.
To take it to the next level we are holding our first ever Clean Tides™ Bay Cleanup. This event not only furthers our mission to raise awareness but is our way of taking aggressive action toward preserving our natural resources.
The Clean Tides™ Project is targeting the highly polluted areas of the King Ranch© shoreline. We recommend that all volunteers come by boat because the King Ranch© is only accessible by vessel. Please dress appropriately, wear sun protection, and bring a reusable water bottle. Volunteers under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult.
The Clean Tides™ projects happen rain or shine. Remember, everything flows to the ocean, so it’s especially important to clean our waterways during rain storms.
Meet us at the Bluff's Landing pavilion directly across from the marina store. we will have a quick saftey meeting at 8:30am. We will provide plastic gloves and trash bags. You are more than welcome to bring your own supplies.
At our first event, our goal was to clean from Pita to Pure Oil channel. While we weren't able to cover the entire stretch, our group of volunteers cleaned up between 850 - 1000lbs of debris from the King Ranch® shoreline! With more participants and volunteers we can only imagine what we can accomplish!
